About Sabrcare Trust

Sabrcare Trust is free assistance offered to cancer patients in the form of information support, financial assistance, emotional support and medico-practical advice. We assist public health centers in bringing the right care in a systematic manner to patients, families and communities. With your help we provide the patients and communities with the knowledge, the supplies and the continued support to make small changes that make a big difference to their lives.

Sabrcare Trust is a registered Trust, registered with the Sub- Registrar, Goa on Jun 4, 2018 (PNJ-BK4-00024-2018).

Foundation story

Sabrcare was born out of a simple but powerful observation: families in Goa facing childhood cancer were not just battling a disease — they were battling alone. They were confused by medical language they didn’t understand, overwhelmed by costs they couldn’t afford, and emotionally exhausted with nowhere to turn.

Founder’s message

When I first began working in cancer care in Goa, what struck me most was not the disease itself — it was the loneliness families felt. Parents sitting outside hospital wards, unsure of what their child’s diagnosis meant.

Mothers choosing between buying food and buying medicine. Fathers missing work to attend appointments with no one to guide them through the system.

Our Mission & Vision

We believe in a future where comprehensive cancer care available is to everyone without discrimination.

Our mission is to provide the right care to improve the lives of people living with cancer in and around Goa. Many of the communities that we support have extremely restricted resources which might mean that it is a constant struggle to feed their families, find clean drinking water or access even a basic level of healthcare.

Why childhood cancer

Sabrcare exists because we believe no parent should have to figure this out alone. Our work is about more than providing information or financial aid, it's about sitting beside a family and saying, "We are with you. All the way."

Childhood Cancer is Underdiagnosed

In India, many childhood cancer cases go undetected because the early signs, fatigue, weight loss, swollen lymph nodes are mistaken for common illnesses. Delayed diagnosis means delayed treatment, and for children, time is critical. Sabrcare works to raise awareness so families recognise the signs early and seek care sooner.

Treatment is Often Interrupted Due to Financial Barriers

Even when a child is diagnosed in time, families frequently have to pause or abandon treatment because they cannot afford the costs. A single cycle of chemotherapy can cost more than a family earns in months. We work to ensure that finances are never the reason a child stops fighting.

Families Need More Than Medical Help

The emotional, informational, and practical challenges that come with a childhood cancer diagnosis are enormous — and the medical system alone cannot address them all. Sabrcare exists to fill this gap, offering holistic support that treats the whole family, not just the disease.
